So, what brings us to Austin?
Well… It has 20 turns, two DRS straights and over 30 metres of elevation from the start line to Turn 1. It can only be the Circuit of the Americas, right?
For round 19 of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship, Isack, Liam and VCARB are in the heart of Texas for what’s set to be a proper humdinger of a Grand Prix.
We thought it would make sense to show you around before we hit the track. So join us for food, fun and fast cars in VCARB’s Cultural Guide to Austin.

Austin is Texas’ capital city and the second-largest capital in the USA. There are almost one million ‘Austinites’, ranging from students, government officials and musicians. Austin is known as ‘The Live Music Capital of the World’ and has a huge global influence on popular culture.
‘Keep Austin Weird’ has been an Austin motto for decades, encouraging locals to lean into their eccentricities and promote diverse, local and independent businesses. Being a major city in the south, there’s no shortage of annual events that are worth checking out.
Austin City Limits is one of the largest festivals in the USA and is named after the famous TV series, which was a live show that promoted local, upcoming talent in the city. Today, it’s regarded as one of the most important TV shows in history, not only for its preservation of lesser-known genres but for showcasing the variety of talent that Austin has to offer. At this year’s festival, Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii and The Strokes were among some of the international artists headlining the six-day spectacle.

The Austin Film Festival picks up from where Austin City Limits leaves off and instead flies the flag for all things independent and local cinema. Previous guests have included Greta Gerwig (Barbie), Natalie Portman (Black Swan) and Robert Duvall (The Godfather).
Then there’s the Austoberfest. An Austin taste of German food, drink, music and culture. The perfect place for Gemütlichkeit (warmth and friendliness) in the oldest operating tavern in the state of Texas. Prost (not Alain, the German word for cheers)!
Austin loves sports. If you can name a sport, chances are Austin has a team competing in it. Football, soccer, basketball, bull riding, rugby league and union, baseball, ice hockey, and volleyball. We could go on, but there’s one sport we’re here for, let’s not kid ourselves…
Famous Austin athletes include Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker, former WWE athletes, Carson Foster (swimming) and Tara Davis-Woodhall (long jump).
Austin has been the home to the United States Grand Prix since 2012, taking over from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Circuit of the Americas was the first purpose-built circuit for Formula One in the USA and was designed by Hermann Tilke alongside 1993 Motorcycle World Champion, Kevin Schwantz. In 2022, the United States Grand Prix hosted 440,000 people across the weekend, breaking the record for the highest attendance for a race in North America. The circuit is famous for its 77-metre observation tower, offering spectacular, 360-degree views of the circuit.

The Circuit of the Americas was designed to incorporate famous sections of tracks from around the world, including the Maggotts-Becketts-Chapel complex from Silverstone at turns 3-7, the Hockenheimring-inspired section of in-field track at turns 12-15 and the fast, swooping right turn from Istanbul Park at turn 8. The result is 20 turns and 3.426 miles of some of the most diverse sections of track in the world. The complete lap is full of tight hairpins, long straights, elevation changes and fast changes of direction. COTA is a certified banger, take it from us.
We’ll be there from 17-19 October, with Isack, Liam and the VCARB crew. We’d love to see you there, partner.
Yeee-hawwwww.
