Returning to the team, F1 Sim Racing veteran Joni competed in the inaugural F1 Sim Racing World Championship back in 2017 finishing tenth in the overall Championship.

In the following season, he competed with Red Bull Racing before moving to then-named Alpha Tauri for the 2020 season, staying with the Italian team for 3 years, and now returning for the 2026 season
