Monaco might be the epitome of F1 glamour but the night race known as the Singapore Grand Prix might just be the sport’s most visually stunning race. When the sun sets over the city’s futuristic skyline and the Marina Bay Street Circuit‘s 1600 lighting projectors fire up, it’s the closest F1 gets to Bladerunner – only here the streets are spotlessly clean.

The 25 corners that make up the Singapore GP track and its twisting nature, coupled with the tropical heat make it a tough test of stamina and concentration for the drivers. While Monza brings the curtain down on the European part of the season in classic style, the Singapore Grand Prix reignites the Asian part with what has become a signature event for Formula 1 in the new millennium. F1 Singapore is today a true tourism brand, which attracts thousands of visitors to the Asian city state.

"The Singapore GP holds fond memories for me as it's where I scored my first points in F1, so I'm always excited to race here. It's a physically tough place to race given the heat and humidity, however the Bahrain GP in Malaysia became important preparation. We're heading into this weekend with many positives from last Sunday's race. To come away with P7 and double points for the team was a strong result, especially after such a tough and unpredictable weekend. We showed good pace, executed a successful strategy and the car felt good, so there’s plenty we can take into Singapore. It’s a Sprint weekend here as well, so there are more opportunities to score points, and that’s what we’ll be focused on. Hopefully we can carry the positive momentum forward as we round off the triple header.”

“We arrive here in Singapore after a really positive weekend for the team at the Bahrain GP in Malaysia and I’m really looking forward to racing at the Marina Bay Street Circuit this weekend. It’s an iconic track on the F1 calendar, but we know it’s going to be a challenge, especially with this being a Sprint weekend on a street circuit. I remember watching this Grand Prix from home when I was younger and thinking how special Qualifying always is here, so I’m looking forward to having some fun, and being able to do it twice this weekend makes it even more exciting. It will be important to build up the weekend from FP1 and get into a good place with the car and find that confidence behind the wheel, which is fundamental at a circuit like this. The conditions will be tough with the heat and humidity, but I feel we’re prepped for that, coming straight from in Sepang. It’s been a busy couple of weeks, so the focus is on finishing this triple-header on a high before we head West.”
