In the run-up to track action, Isack forgot the name of Finding Nemo, Liam’s breakfast almost ended up in the Monaco harbour, and the duo kept a close eye on Formula 3 activities. Never a rest day for these two, eh?
Let’s Mona-go. Cheesy pun aside, this should be a good one.
Friday kicked off with Isack and Liam putting in some medium tyre runs for P13 and P17 overall. In FP2, they started to show their true pace, with Liam and Isack sitting comfortably in P5 and P6. The track was feeling good and serving our lads well. They looked set for a strong qualifying session on Saturday.
(Qualifying hopefully goes smoother than Isack climbing the VCARB hospitality staircase…)
After some strong race runs in FP3, Liam and Isack were ready for Qualifying. The duo sailed through Q1, which ended prematurely due to a red flag for a crash from Antonelli, and P7 and P9 in Q2 meant we had our first double Q3 finish of 2025.
Time for the top 10 to shoot it out for pole position, and shoot it out, Liam and Isack did! Liam’s first Q3 appearance of the year was rounded off with a P9 qualifying finish and Isack went three steps further, taking his VCARB 02 to P6 on the grid. After qualifying concluded and Norris set a new lap record of 1:09.954, Hamilton was handed a three-place grid penalty for blocking Verstappen during Q1, which promoted Isack to P5 on the starting grid.
Race time.
Two mandatory pit stops were on the cards in the wake of new Monaco-exclusive regulations. Isack and Liam held their starting positions through a virtual safety car for Bortoleto’s crash and double yellow flags for Gasly’s contact with Tsunoda.

Isack broke the pit stop seal on lap 15 and swapped his mediums for used soft tyres, emerging ahead of Liam into P8. Alonso and Ocon pitted ahead of our VCARB duo, which promoted Isack to P6, before he made his second and final pit stop on lap 20 and switched to hard tyres.

Isack emerged P8 in what was a fantastic team strategy and he was well on the way to his best-ever finish in Formula 1. For Liam, his pit stops came later in the race, on lap 32 for softs and lap 42 for hards and he had great race pace all the way until the 78th and final lap.
In typical Monaco style, nothing is certain around the streets of Monaco. What IS certain, though, is DOUBLE POINTS, BABYYYYYY. P6 for Isack and P8 for Liam is our best team result of the year so far. The first of many in 2025, no doubt. What better place to secure our best race of the season than surrounded by the glitz and glamour of Monaco?

Here’s what Laurent Mekies, Team Principal of Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, had to say about the first double points of the season:
“What an incredible weekend in Monaco. We came here with two rookies, but Isack and Liam amaze us every week. We had both cars in Q3 for the first time this year, which is a demonstration of how hard everybody is working. We knew it would be tricky with the two mandatory pit stops, but the guys did an amazing job with the strategy. We’re hoping to keep this up in Barcelona next week”.
Next week, we’re back again, for the third instalment of this triple header. We’re travelling 680 km down the coast of the Balearic Sea for round 9 of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship and the FORMULA 1 ARAMCO GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2025.
See you in Spain, sports fans.
¡Vamos!
