Weekend Review From MexicoWe’re over 2,000 metres above sea level!
Helloooooooooodownthere!
Hope you can hear us. We’re over 2,000 metres above sea level, after all. No, no, we’re not on a hike or lost up a mountain, we’re in Mexico! Specifically, Mexico City, or, as the locals call it: Chilangolandia. Check out our latest Creator Program race poster to mark the occasion, courtesy of @gastonduflos.
Round 20 of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship is a hot one. We’ve seen record track temperatures this weekend, and the high altitude only makes things more difficult for Liam, Isack and the team. It didn’t put a stop to our social filming, though, don’t worry. Stay with us while we take you through the twists and turns of the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE LA CIUDAD DE MEXICO 2025, por for four?
Liam continues his love for playing guitar after Austin’s jam sessions, and now he always travels with the essentials. We can’t forget Isack is unreal on the triangle, though.
But what about the track action? Well, we were pretty in tune with that, too.
Our very own Ayumu Iwasa took part in FP1, getting some valuable time behind the wheel of the VCARB 02. Ayumu on-site means only one thing: we get him involved in the filming, obviously. Here’s Ayumu’s take on FP1. Later in the day, Liam was back behind the wheel and immediately on the pace: he finished the session in P8.
Saturday brought with it even higher temperatures. Naturally, our boys turned up the heat, too. Isack was less than eight tenths off the leading time from Lando Norris, and Liam was within a second, too. It was time for a pre-quali lock in.
And boy oh boy, did they lock in. Isack was P1 in Q1, leading the field and setting the baseline for others to chase. Liam was just over two tenths back in P6. That’s what we’re talking about! Lando Norris set the pace in Q2 and Isack was quick enough for yet another Q3 session of the year. Liam, unfortunately, struggled with the balance of the car and was unable to set a lap on his final runs. He’d start P15 on Sunday. Here’s Isack running us through his Mexican Saturday.
Sunday means only one thing. RAAAAAACE DAAAAAAAY. Truly the best day of the week. Softs for Liam, Mediums for Isack. Let’s see what Mexico has for us, eh?
¡Vamos!
An unfortunate start on the first lap, as Liam was hit by another car at Turn 1 and damaged his front wing. He pitted on lap 3 for a new nose and fresh Hard tyres. Sadly, after a few more laps, the damage was just too much and Liam had to retire the car.

Isack, meanwhile, was making his way through the pack as surrounding cars began to pit. He got as high as P7 before pitting for Soft tyres on lap 35, emerging into a close battle with Gabriel Bortoleto, Yuki Tsunoda and Alex Albon.
A Virtual Safety Car halted any last lap progress for Isack and he brought his car home in P13. The race was won by Lando Norris, followed by Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen.

So, how does the team feel about the 2025 Mexican Grand Prix? Here’s Isack’s take on how things went:
“It was a frustrating race. I had a pretty good start but then I made a mistake in Turn 6 during the first lap where I lost a few places, and that compromised quite a lot of our race. We had a good strategy overall but I think we just didn’t have enough pace to fight for points today.”
Liam had this to say:
“The speed we’ve had all weekend has been good, so it’s a shame we weren’t able to demonstrate that here in Mexico. We’ll of course take learnings from this weekend as we head into Brazil in a couple of weeks.”
We’re not racing next weekend. I know, I know, we’ll miss it too. But we’ll be back the following week, from 7-9 November, after we take a journey south of the equator. This time, we’re off to see the hustle and bustle of São Paolo and the FORMULA 1 MSC CRUISES GRANDE PREMIO DE SAO PAULO 2025.
