Ahead of the United States Grand Prix, Liam Lawson & Friends headlined the latest VCARB Garage Session in downtown Austin. With a new custom guitar, courtesy of Taylor Guitars, our resident Kiwi was ready to look and sound the part in front of hundreds of VCARB fans.

Liam’s long shared his love for music and guitars (in fact, he shared all of this in an interview with us last week), so it only felt right to have him perform in the home of Country and Western.
Now feels like an appropriate time to have a flashback to 2025, when we cooked up one of our favourite videos to date and Liam went full-on yeehaw mere seconds after stepping off the plane.
As we prepared for the show, we bumped into the headline act rehearsing with his brand-new six-string, shared some good luck messages from loved ones (and admin) and handed out tickets to our exclusive guest list.
Before our superstar took to the stage, we had a Bluebird Cafe-style performance from Jess Farren, Scoot Teasley and Jonny Capeci, who all performed a song and talked about their songwriting processes, sharing the intimate moments that go into being a performer.
With that all taken care of, there was just one more thing to do. 1, 2...
Please welcome to the stage: LIAM LAWSON & FRIENDS!
Along with his brother and two childhood friends, Liam performed a stacked setlist, including: Indigo - Sam Barber, Daughters - John Mayer, Rein Me In - Sam Fender
There were even some familiar faces in the crowd, including Arvid, Isack Hadjar, Rafaela Ferreira and Daniel Ricciardo. Plus, from one good boy to another, it seemed everybody was down in Austin supporting the Kiwi Quartet. And yes, there was an encore.
The crowd couldn’t get enough. ONE MORE SONG! ONE MORE SONG! To round out their performance, Liam Lawson & Friends performed I'm the Problem by Morgan Wallen, before freeing up the stage for Alison Nichols and Drake Milligan, who sang out the Garage Sessions in style.
To celebrate Liam’s breakthrough performance, we’re dropping some exclusive content very soon, so keep an eye on our socials so you don’t miss out.
And if all of this has suitably whetted your whistle, check out our other Garage Sessions, including DJ sets in Melbourne and VCARB festival takeovers.
