And if you hadn’t already figured it out, we’re down in Sin City, babyyyyy, the Entertainment Capital of the World. Check out our weekend race poster, courtesy of @jackwooood and the VCARB Creator Platform, if you haven’t already. For Round 22 of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship, how did Isack and Liam fare around the 3.853 miles of the Las Vegas Strip Circuit?
Well, before we get into that, it’s tradition around here to have a nosey at Liam and Isack’s goings on (when they’re not on FaceTime to bae, obviously). Don’t forget to check out Rafa’s progress in the F1 Academy, too, where it’s the final round of her 2025 campaign. Liam was certainly hoping for a weekend without any rough rough patches. Meanwhile, Isack was getting a little bit high fashion in his secondary role as a model-actor-influencer.
But what went down on track? Well, not a lot of grip, for starters. A cold and greasy track made it tricky for everyone as they worked out the limits of the grip. In FP1, Isack was P7 and Liam was P13, but in FP2, it was a VCARB 5th and 6th, and just eight-thousandths of a second split the boys. Suuuuper close.
On Qualifying day, it was a soggy one. Even the blue-banded, full-Wet tyres came out of the blankets. Both of our drivers made it out of Q1 and were even faster in Q2 (Isack was second fastest!). In Q3, for yet another double Q3 finish for the lads, Liam was sixth fastest and Isack was quick enough for a P8 race start. Not bad going at all.

So, how was the race? We’re about to tell you.
Medium tyres for both of our drivers at the race start. Liam picked up a broken wing on the first lap and dropped down the order before pitting to get rid of the damage. Not an ideal start, but if there’s a circuit where overtaking is possible, it’s the Las Vegas Strip Circuit. We weren’t too worried. In the scrappy first lap, Isack had gained three places and was in P5, defending against Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari.
A Virtual Safety Car was deployed on Lap 16 to remove debris at the entrance of Turn 14, and Isack lost a place to Leclerc on the restart, but still held onto a comfortable P8. Isack pitted on Lap 21 for the Hard tyre and emerged in P11. Liam pitted eight laps later and was battling the two Alpines for P16. Our boys came home in these positions: P8 for Isack (and four lovely championship points) and P16 for Liam. But a post-race disqualification for both McLaren drivers bumped Isack up to P6, and with that, an additional four points. Liam’s final finishing position was P14. Here’s the drivers’ take on the weekend and the FORMULA 1 HEINEKEN LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX 2025 as a whole:

“I’m proud of the team for the job we’ve done here in Vegas, and I think it’s been our best weekend of the year. We didn’t make any mistakes from FP1 and ticked all the boxes we had to, so it’s nice to be rewarded with four points.” - Isack Hadjar
“It was extremely slippery into Turn 1 and once I committed to brake, the cars in front started checking up and I didn’t have anywhere to go. We should have had two cars in the points today, so it’s a shame given where we started. That being said, we’ll of course take the positives from the speed of the car into Qatar.” - Liam Lawson
There are just two more races to go in 2025, and they’re coming up straight away. We’re packing up our gear and heading east, first to the Lusail International Circuit and the FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS QATAR GRAND PRIX 2025 for our last Sprint Race of the season.
