Rafaela Ferreira, affectionately known as “Rafa,” made a remarkable debut with Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (VCARB) during the F1 Academy’s inaugural round at the Shanghai International Circuit from March 21-23, 2025. Despite facing a three-place grid penalty that positioned her 16th on the starting grid, Rafa showcased her resilience and driving prowess throughout the weekend.
Race 1: A Stellar Comeback
In the first race, Rafa demonstrated exceptional skill and determination. Starting from P16, she adeptly navigated through the field, overtaking multiple competitors to secure a commendable 5th-place finish. This impressive recovery drive not only highlighted her talent but also earned VCARB four valuable championship points. Her performance was widely praised, with many noting her ability to remain composed under pressure and execute strategic overtakes.
Race 2: Consistent Performance
The second race saw Rafa once again starting from the 16th position. Undeterred, she maintained her competitive form, advancing through the pack to finish 8th. This consistent performance across both races underscores her potential and adaptability in the highly competitive environment of the F1 Academy.
