Joni joined the Oracle Red Bull Racing Esports team in 2018 through the F1 Esports Pro Draft and played a key role in it taking the Constructors’ title in 2019, alongside team-mate Frederik Rasmussen, who drove for us in 2018, when our Esports team finished second of the teams.
In 2020, Joni joined the Scuderia AlphaTauri Esports Team. In his debut season with us he finished tenth in the Drivers’ Championship and won the important DHL Fastest Lap trophy, which he also did the following year, the first sim-racer to take back-to-back DHL Fastest Lap trophies.
For 2023, Joni Törmälä is once again ready to defend our colours. His vast experience and ability will be something his new team-mates, Jed Norgrove and Tom Manley, can count on.
