Round 11 of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship has brought us to the picturesque Styrian mountains for the FORMULA 1 MSC CRUISES AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX. Our incredible race poster is here, courtesy of Yvecz. Great vibes to set us up for the weekend.
10 corners. 2.688 miles. 70 laps. Let’s be havin’ ya.
Before we kick off with the track action, let’s run through what Isack and Liam have been up to in Spielberg. No flamingos were harmed during this roundup, btw…
If you didn’t get enough references to The Office in Spain, here’s a roll call from Pam Beesly, AKA Liam and Isack. Oh, did we mention Liam raced a tractor?? No DRS on those bad boys… Check out the room in these bags, too. Ludicrously capacious…
Isack and Liam headed out for the first session of the weekend. Their best times sat them in P10 and P15 respectively. The duo followed up on those results with a P12 and P13 finish in FP2 as they prepared for qualifying. In FP3, Liam and Isack worked on race runs to prepare for battle with the midfield on Sunday.

Liam and Isack SOARED through Q1, finishing P3 and P5 in the standings. During Q2, Liam once again set a cracking lap time, good enough for P9 and promotion through to Q3. Isack was caught out with traffic and missed out on Q3 by less than two-tenths of a second and was set to start the Grand Prix from P12. Liam’s best time in Q3 was a 1:04.926, which converted to a solid P6 race start - his second best of the season so far. Pole went to Norris in the McLaren.
Sainz’s Williams had issues on the formation lap which put a delay on the race start and knocked a lap off the board. Liam started on medium tyres, while Isack opted for the faster, red-banded softs. Antonelli and Verstappen collided on Lap 1 at Turn 3, which brought out a safety car. Liam and Isack were caught up in the incident, dropping to P9 and P16 respectively, but didn’t get any damage, so Isack took the opportunity to swap to medium tyres before the race restarted.
As the midpoint of the race approached, Liam was sitting comfortably in the top 10, swapping positions with Russell and Alonso throughout. Isack was working his way back up the order after his early pit stop and battled Colapinto and Bortoleto for track position.

After all of the drama, the overtakes and the pit stops, Liam held on to his starting position to bring his VCARB 02 home in P6 - his best career finish! Liam also secured eight valuable points for the Constructors’ Championship battle with the midfield. Isack finished P12 after losing out on a point-scoring position within the final few laps. Norris won from pole position in a close fight with Piastri.
Let’s weigh in with the boys. Here’s what Liam and Isack had to say about the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix.
“Great weekend,” Liam said, “Points on the board, so I’m very proud of the team for an incredible amount of work. On to Silverstone.”
“Today was looking good,” Isack said in his debrief, “We had a poor start when avoiding the crash but we made the strategy pay off. We picked up floor damage while running in P8, which is a real shame but the pace was very strong. Silverstone will be even better!”
Next up, it’s a big one. We’re going back to where F1 began 75 years ago: Silverstone. That’s right, join us from 4-6 July for the FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS BRITISH GRAND PRIX 2025.
See you there!
