Nestled in the Stavelot hills, Spa is made up of 4.352 miles, tying together 19 iconic corners. There are plenty of ups and downs (and we’re not just talking about the Eau Rouge/Raidillon section), delivering a track that truly feels like it belongs in its surroundings. As is tradition around here, we start by sharing our race poster, created via our VCARB Creator Platform. This week, @artstralis picked up his pen and cooked up a tasty Belgian GP poster with waffles and fries galore. And naturally, being a busy weekend, we had to provide our drivers with all of the relaxation they needed, so we gave them these handy Spa vouchers to redeem at their request. See, we don’t just rage-bait them…

Although saying that, we did make them film this…

I think Gerard Butler would be proud, in our defence. Also, Liam got a bit camera-shy during an intimate guitar session (bless him). Nevertheless, it wouldn’t be a race weekend in Spa without remembering Anthoine Hubert, and Arvid and Liam joined the rest of the paddock to show their respects.

Which brings us to the racing, and as we mentioned earlier, we love it around here. Luckily, Arvid and Liam do too, which was reflected in their Free Practice performances, finishing in the top 11 drivers in both of Friday’s sessions. Here’s their Friday debrief:

Before Quali, a quick game of Memory won’t hurt, will it? In fact, we swear it actually helped. No joke. All of those synapses and brainwaves firing on all cylinders before hitting the track? Come on, new meta just discovered. Our narrative is helped even more by the fact that Arvid only went and stuck it into Q3! A cracking P8 for our resident Brit, with Liam just three places further back and missing out on Q3 by the thinnest of whiskers. Arvid really do got the dawg in him.

It wouldn’t be a successful weekend of ragebaiting without posing a question to Arvid about the World Cup result… We reckon he’s still a bit sore from England’s loss…

So let’s move on before we cause irreparable emotional damage and get on with the race. Due to other drivers taking grid penalties, we lined up with Arvid in P7 and Liam in P9, with both lads on Medium tyres for a predicted one-stop race. Liam made a stellar start, jumping up three places to sit P6 when the Lap 1 Safety Car was deployed for a crash from George Russell. Arvid followed just behind in P7 (do you reckon they both hoped for another SIX SEVENNNNNNNNNNN 🫴🫴🫴🫴🫴🫴🫴🫴 like in Silverstone?). Be that as it may, our boys continued to fight with the Alpines and McLarens and were in a comfortable P9 and P10 by Lap 9. We pitted Liam first, on Lap 16, with Arvid the following lap, swapping them both over to Hard tyres to see them to the chequered flag. They emerged practically on top of each other, around P13, to continue their battle with the Alpine drivers of Franco Colapinto and Pierre Gasly.

Laughs With Lawblad

As the race progressed, the Audi of Nico Hulkenberg entered the picture and there was a firm but fair scrap for the last remaining point-scoring positions until the very end of the race. During a battle on Lap 30, Liam lost out to both Alpines, but made a position back on Gasly, with this swapping of positions allowing Arvid to escape the pack and secure P9 at the chequered flag. Liam got caught up in the battle with Hulkenberg and the Alpines, finishing P12 and soooooo close to the points.

Overall, it was a pretty good showing from our lads this weekend, as they can attest to in their Lawblad Spa debrief:

We’re back in a week’s time for one more race before the summer break. Exit the track at Spa, turn right and keep going. If you reach the Black Sea, you’ve gone too far, buddy. Swing that car around and head back inland, making sure you stop in Budapest for the FORMULA 1 AWS HUNGARIAN GRAND PRIX 2026, Round 11 of the 2026 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
